Middle River Clean-up Day

IMG_7206On Saturday, September 27th, 70 volunteers spent the morning removing debris from several sections of Middle River and from Lewis Creek and Asylum Creek in Staunton.

All debris was taken to Virginia Eagle Distributing in Verona, the corporate sponsor of the event.

Debris collected included 34 tires, several TVs and air conditioners, barrels, wooden pallets, car batteries, fence posts, plastic playground items, and much more.

  – Crystal Heinz from Virginia Eagle Distributing.  Crystal organized VA Eagle as a sponsor and supervised the collection point at VA Eagle on Clean-up Day.

  – Kate Hopkins from Valley Conservation Council.  Kate helped with the total event organization and coordinated the clean-ups of Lewis Creek and Asylum Creek.
